Life in Fast Forward

My Baby Boy...learning to crawl...will say "DaDa" over and over ...each time I try to get him to say Mama.

Matt's a big Haverstraw Little League fan...at age 3, the ice pops are the best part of the game!

But somehow life happened...

Who is this Man? My little boy? It cannot be true.

Dad is so Proud. The last one has graduated. A job well done.

Mom is very proud...but it's so bittersweet. My baby boy is no more. It's true...he is that man...the man I knew he someday would be.

I love you Snickleberry...ooops, I mean Matt

Creative Journey

Well, I’m back on my Journey…again.

Life just seems to get in the way.

I finally got around to my unfinished sewing projects.  I have now discovered that I truly HATE to sew garments.  I am quite capable.  But I hate all the instructions and stuff.  Just far to complicated and stressful!  I do love to sew…give me a pillow… a curtain…even a very simple quilt.  I love to run that fabric through the whizzing machine….but I will leave the garment making to the garment industry!

So, I finished the baby outfit I was going to make for my second granddaughter ( it might fit my third granddaughter by now).  It did come out very cute, 100_0408100_0411

but I gave all of the other garment patterns away!!  AAAHH!!  I feel lighter already!!

Now, if I can just get that Christmas scrapbook finished!

Finding Creative Peace

I'm starting on a new creative journey.
It's a peaceful journey that I'm looking to take.
You see, my office/ craft room has some dirty little secrets.
They're tucked away in corners and cubbies of the room.

My garage holds quite a few secrets, too.

009

010

I’m guessing some of you wonderfully crafty ladies out there might also have a secret or two.

It’s something I don’t like to talk about.
Heck, I don’t even like to think about it.

But it’s time to confess…
time to bring them out of the dark and into the light…
or I will not be able to take my peaceful journey.

i have unfinished projects.
There…I said it!

I HAVE UNFINISHED PROJECTS!!!

012

LOTS OF THEM!!
Now, what I’m going to do about this is key to my peaceful journey.
My peaceful, creative journey is going to let me find a relaxed creative place.
I know I’m doing something creative in that place.
But not every craft and hobby is for every person.

WHY DID I NOT KNOW THIS?

Sooo….
I will give each of my lonely little abandoned projects one more try.
One last chance to make me happy.

If I’m feeling stress…

If I’m not feelin’ the love…

If I’m not feeling peacefully happy…

Then…
I’m breaking up with my stuff!!
No more dirty little secrets!!
They will be finished with love…
or banished forever from my life!!

And I will be at peace.

Hey anyone out there looking for a few good projects…
(one woman’s trash, ya know…)

Anyway…

The first stop on my journey…
001
appropriately…
003
is painting a PEACE sign.

I do love to paint.
004

This was supposed to be for my son’s room as it’s one of his favorite sayings.
002

I wonder if he’ll care that I keep it.
He hardly remembered it when I showed it to him.

I think it’s perfect for my office/craft room wall!

PEACE.
